Brief History of World Learning Services (WLS)

Founded in Australia in 1995, World Learning Services (WLS) has partnered with education ministries worldwide to deliver impactful projects at both national and regional levels. With expertise in education reform, professional development, and integrating technology into school systems, WLS was the first to introduce the Australian education system and the use of innovative technologies to Kuwait’s Ministry of Education.

The organization is shaped by the contributions of its visionary leadership, Farhat Said-Pervaiz and Anjum Pervaiz. Farhat, a graduate of Cambridge University and Harvard University, has contributed significantly to the use of technologies in education and early childhood development, as well as global development projects with USAID and the World Bank. Anjum, a graduate of the University of Houston, has led education reform initiatives in Pakistan’s largest province, achieving the highest reading gains in the USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project. This success earned global recognition, including the prestigious US Library of Congress Literacy Award in 2020 and selection by RTI International’s Learning@Scale research study.

Since 1997, WLS has conducted numerous international training programs across Kuwait, Australia, the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, and Pakistan. These programs have supported teachers, principals, area managers, deans of education, and high-ranking government officials, including a minister of education, in building their capacities in areas such as technology integration, leadership development, and effective education management.

The leadership of WLS has supported transformative reforms, 1) including Pakistan’s first National ICT Strategy for Education, contributing their expertise to enhance the integration of technology and improve education systems; 2) Reform of teacher education in Pakistan and 3) Improvement of Education Management and Professional Development Project for Kuwait's Ministry of Education. Their experience in large-scale training and education initiatives positions them as trusted partners for governments striving to elevate their education systems sustainably.
